The history of the United States and the communal land ownership that took place before European settlement.
“Let’s start off talking about the history of land in this country. I want to initially first talk about tribal groups, because that’s where, of course, it all started. So originally, before European settlement, all of the land in the U.S., primarily, was owned by indigenous groups. And up until the 1600s, they were the primary occupants of this land, and they believed in communal land ownership and habitation. They lived among various tribes and of course, there were different challenges within the groups but they lived communally.”
